Devil's Cove FAQ

How do I get to Devil's Cove?

You can only access Devil’s Cove by boat. Our captained rentals depart from Volente Beach Resort & Waterpark, and the ride to Devil’s Cove takes about 10 minutes.

When is Devil's Cove busiest?

Fridays and Saturdays from Memorial Day through Labor Day are peak times. If you want the party atmosphere, aim for Fridays and Saturdays. If you prefer a calmer experience, go on a weekday or Sunday.

Is Devil's Cove safe for kids?

Devil’s Cove really isn’t the place for young kids on weekends — it can get crowded and loud with party boats. Families often prefer we go to a different cove like Cypress Creek or Arkansas Bend.

How long should I book for a Devil's Cove trip?

A 4-hour rental gives you a solid Devil’s Cove experience — the ride there, 2-3 hours in the cove, and the ride back. An 8-hour rental lets you visit Devil’s Cove plus other coves and stops.

Can I bring a grill or cook on the boat?

No open flames or grills on the boats. Pack pre-made food, sandwiches, and snacks instead. We highly suggest ordering through Beachside Billy’s and having your food and drinks delivered right to your boat before you depart.

What are the lake levels like?

Lake Travis water levels can vary year to year. The good news for all 2026 rentals is that Lake Travis is currently full, thanks to recent rains, making it the perfect time to get out on the water.

What happens if it rains?

Keep Austin Wet operates rain or shine. If severe weather prevents completing your reservation, we only charge for time enjoyed on the boat, up to a full refund (minus the non-refundable booking fee).
